Minutes for Tuesday, November 10, 2015
Meeting held in Kinsmen Pavilion at Richmond Nature Park, 7:30 PM

There were 58 people in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:35 pm.

1. Welcome : Opening Remarks and Introduction by Amanda Goodman Lee
   • January 12th will be the RBA AGM.
     • Start time is 7:30 pm at Kinsmen Pavilion at Richmond Nature Park.
     • Hugh Mawby will be managing the election.
     • All positions are open and Amanda encouraged RBA members to put names forward
   • November 14th: Candle Making Workshop to be held at Urban Bee Supplies – 6721 Ladner Trunk Road, Delta between 11 am & 2 pm. Bring food contributions to pot luck lunch
   • November 24th: Bees & Beers at Fireman’s Public House Pub between 6 & 9 pm
   • Miriam will be taking $20 2016 RBA membership payments during the meeting

   • To approve minutes of the October meeting
   • Motion made by Steve Bayley. Seconded by Bob Fisher

3. Treasurer’s Report by Miriam Soet
   
   • Funds in account at time of meeting: $7,083.50
   • Encouraged attendees to pay for their 2016 membership fees now
4. Jeff Lee BCHPA Report
   • Great showing from the RBA at the AGM in Courtenay October 15 – 18th, 2015
   • There were 5 new individuals who took and passed the BCHPA Certified Instructors course
   • Catherine Culley has stepped down as President of the BCHPA and Kerry Clark has stepped in to finish off the current term
   • New Constitution Review to take place and presented at the next AGM
   • Jeff is looking for volunteers for the next event as the Langley Club has declined to coordinate/host the event
   • BCHPA has joined the BC Agricultural Council (BCAC)
   • Jeff encouraged RBA members to be aware and prepared for Small Hive Beetle (SHB) as a result of appearance of SHB in Abbotsford

6. Presentation: Club Member Hands-On Workshop
   • Amanda Goodman Lee demonstrated candle making
   • Allen Garr presented hive wintering with granulated sugar
   • Steve Bayley at Delta Honey Farms presented their recipe for sugar blocks for winter feeding
   • Stephanie Imhoff presented various health and beauty items that can be made with bee products extracted from the hive
