Annual General Meeting Minutes January 8th, 2019
Meeting held in Kinsmen Pavilion at Richmond Nature Park, 7:30 pm
There were 40 people in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:42 pm.
- Welcome and introduction of Newbees
- There were 3 “Newbees” in attendance.
- November 2018 minutes
- Motion to approve November 2018 minutes made by Hugh Mawby, seconded by Steve Bayley.
- Carried
- Raffle
- Shaidah Karim introduced the raffle prizes and encouraged members to purchase raffle tickets from Jean Stewart.
- Membership dues
- Members was reminded to pay their membership dues.
- Treasurer’s Report
- The RBA account currently has $9842.82. There is $90 in petty cash, and several membership cheques to cash.
- Hugh Mawby made a formal request for a financial report to include with the AGM minutes.
- Executive stepping down
- Thank you cards were distributed to those members stepping down from the executive. Thanks to Winston Wong, Christina Faminoff, Ian Caven, Fiona Gold, Leslie Williams and Barbara Forester-Rickard.

Nomination for President:
Shaidah Karim nominated Alan Wong
3 calls were made for other nominations
With no other nominations Alan Wong was voted in as President.
Nomination for Vice President:
Leanne Taylor nominated Jonathan Jakes
3 calls were made for other nominations
With no other nominations Jonathan Jakes was voted in as Vice President.
Nomination for Secretary:
Shaidah Karim nominated Michelle Clark
3 calls were made for other nominations
With no other nominations Michelle Clark was voted in as Secretary.
Nomination for Treasurer:
Winston Wong nominated Barbara Rokeby
3 calls were made for other nominations
With no other nominations Barbara Rokeby was voted in as Treasurer.
Nomination for 2 positions of Member at Large:
Shaidah Karim nominated Jean Stewart and Alan Wong nominated Gregg Ashby.

With no other nominations Jean Stewart and Gregg Ashby were voted in as Members at Large.
8 Coffee maker
- Barbara Forester-Rickard proposed the purchase of a new coffee maker. Leanne Taylor put forward the motion to purchase the new coffee maker, Laurie Hues seconded the motion.
- Motion carried
9 President Recognition
Alan Wong, President, on behalf of the RBA membership thanked the out-going President Shaidah Karim for her service to the club and members. and presented her with a gift.
10 Coffee Break and Raffle
11 Speaker: Janet Wilson and Tim Trudel – Queen breeding and improvement.
12 Motion to Adjourn: 9:40 pm… Carried
