Julia Mahood is a Georgia Master Craftsman Beekeeper who has been keeping bees since 2004. A recent guest on both Beekeeping Today as well as recent RBA presenter, Andony Melathopoulos, Pollination Podcast. She created the citizen science website MapMyDca.com to gather data on drone congregation areas. Julia was awarded the Georgia Beekeeper of the year in 2018. What's the latest?? Nuria Morfin, is the Technology Transfer Program Lead in British Columbia. She has been working with honey bees for fifteen years as an extensionist, beekeeper, and researcher. Nuria got her PhD from the University of Guelph – Honey Bee Research Centre, where she later worked as a researcher studying the impact of stressors on health and behaviour, analyzing the mechanisms behind behavioural immunity. Our focus will be members working in small groups with a mix of skills and knowledge. The discussions will centre on current seasonal issues for beekeepers such as swarm management, mite monitoring and treatment, brood management and more.

Join us in person (only) as we're finally able to reconvene at the Kinsmen Pavilion at the Richmond Nature Park.  Reconnect with your fellow keepers in person, talk about the season that is almost behind us and your winter preparation.   Hopefully people will have extracted some honey by September as we are also looking at a honey blind taste test during the meeting.
